金枪鱼及上层鱼类资源评估和管理是当今世界鱼类资源研究的热门方向，已经受到全球五大金枪鱼管理国际组织(ICCAT, IOTC, IATTC, WCPOFC, CCSBT)和联合国粮食和农业组织(FAO)的密切关注和重视。如何持续利用和保护金枪鱼及中上层鱼类资源是当前研究的迫切课题。这是中国大陆首次举办关于全球金枪鱼及中上层鱼类资源评估会议。本届会议定于2007年3月12日至15日在中国上海水产大学召开，中外学者就大洋性金枪鱼及中上层鱼类资源评估，管理以及持续利用问题开展深入讨论。本次会议主要包括以下主题：
 全球金枪鱼及中上层鱼类资源和渔业现状；
 金枪鱼及中上层鱼类渔业兼捕问题；
 渔业资源评估和管理中渔业数据和调查数据的获得；
 金枪鱼及中上层鱼类资源评估方法；
 金枪鱼及中上层鱼类资源评估中的量化不确定性的方法；
 金枪鱼和中上层鱼类渔业管理；
 渔业管理战略的风险分析；
 其它问题。
上交英文摘要的截至时间为2006年12月15日。

The International Symposium on Tuna and Pelagic Fish Stock Assessment and Management

Dear Colleagues:
Tuna and pelagic fish stock assessment and management have been a key research area in fisheries stock assessment and management, receiving great attentions from many individual scientists, research organizations, and international organizations such as FAO, ICCAT, IOTC, IATTC, WCPOFC, and CCSBT. Developing strategies for the sustainable use of tuna and pelagic fish resources has become a pressing research issue in fisheries. This is the first time Mainland China organizing an international symposium on tuna and pelagic fish stock assessment and management. The symposium will be held from March 12- 15, 2007 at the Shanghai Fisheries University in Shanghai, China. The main themes of the symposium include

• Evaluation of current status of tuna and pelagic species fisheries in the world;
• Bycatch in tuna and pelagic species fisheries;
• Fishery-dependent and fishery-independent monitoring programs for stock assessment and management;
• Tuna and pelagic fish stock assessment and methodology development;
• Quantification of uncertainty in tuna and pelagic fish stock assessment;
• Management of tuna and pelagic fisheries;
• Risk analyses of alternative strategies in tuna and pelagic fisheries management;
• Other relevant research issues. 

The deadline for submitting abstracts is December 15, 2006
